For GPs and Referring Doctors

Dr Suat Chin Ng welcomes referrals from GPs and other medical practitioners for assessment and management of colorectal, proctology, pelvic floor, hernia and general surgical conditions.

She provides individualised surgical care, including robotic, laparoscopic and open surgery where appropriate, and has specialist training in endoscopy and colonoscopy.

Conditions Suitable for Referral

Referrals are welcome for:

  • Colorectal cancer and suspected colorectal malignancy

  • Colon polyps and abnormal colonoscopy findings

  • Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis

  • Diverticular disease, recurrent diverticulitis

  • Constipation and other colorectal disorders

  • Haemorrhoids

  • Anal fissure

  • Anal fistula and perianal abscess

  • Rectal prolapse

  • Faecal incontinence and pelvic floor disorders

  • Other anorectal and colorectal conditions

  • Hernias (ventral, inguinal, femoral, complex)

  • General surgical conditions

Direct Endoscopy Referral

We accept direct endoscopy referrals from GPs for appropriate low-risk patients. Low-risk patients are those without significant co-morbidities that place them at increased risk of anaesthetic or procedural complications. If your patient does not meet these criteria, or you are unsure, we recommend referral for a pre-procedure consultation so that these risks can be appropriately assessed.

What to Include in a Referral

  • Reason for referral and relevant symptoms

  • Relevant medical and surgical history

  • Previous colorectal investigations or procedures

  • Colonoscopy and pathology reports

  • Relevant imaging

  • Current medications and allergies

  • Relevant blood test results

  • Previous treatment and response

  • Any specific clinical questions or concerns
